Entertaining & engaging film.
Highlight :
Undobtedly, the direction of Shafi and of course performance by Salim Kumar.
Gist :
College Love Story with a different setting, the hero being the only male student in women's college(just imagine 1 boy & 3000 girls)
Technical :
The director Shafi knows how to make the viewers laugh. In some scenes which are not quite good enough he entertains us with some funny comment from the characters(as is done in the climax scene - Jayasurya making a funny comment in the last scene).The script is quite Strong, giving almost equal dialogues to the hero & heroine. Camera tachniques are employed with subtlety and efficiency enhancing the screenplay.
Performances :
Prithviraj has shown that he can act. Though he has done the main role in many filmsz , this must be his first film in which he has done the work differently and commendably. There are still one or two scenes in which he makes you feel that he has a typical "electric shock adichal polum expression varatha mukham"(No expressions on the face, even if you apply electric shock). But overall he is done quite well.
Roma has also performed well, at least comparing with her performance in 'July 4'. She habitually tends to overact and this film is no exception. However, Shafi has done well to contain her overacting in only the first few scenes. But her role could have been done by any of the Malayalam Actresses(may be better than her)
Star performer in the film is undobtedly comedian Salim Kumar. Though his character uses some vulgar language, his way of saying it forces us to forget the vulgarity and enjoy the comedy in it.
Other performers have done their role well. Especially Rajan P. Dev plays well the character of a father to 3, none of whom gave him an opputunity to attend their marriage. Jayasurya has played a side role. He can dance well, but his dancing in this film is not that good(he was dancing as if he was forced by the audience to dance)
So should i watch the movie ?
Well ! the film is good. You wont feel bored. There is enough for laughing. There are also some good songs. And film is just about 2 Hours(This short duration doesnt give any film to bore you for long). Though the plot is the same old love story - first fight & then love - it is definitely done in a different watchable way.
And, don't watch the movie a second time, you will then surely want to watch it a 3rd time.
